Themes

An introduction to government and politics in Canada, covering institutional structures and their evolution (the constitution, Parliament, the Cabinet, the courts, the Charter, federalism); political processes (political parties, elections and voting behaviour); and political culture and ideology.

Format and Requirements

Two 2hr lectures and weekly tutorial. Two essays, one term test, tutorial participation and a final exam

Prerequisites

4.0 credits, or 1.0 credit in POL/ JPA/ JPF/ JPI/ JPR/ JPS/ JRA courses
