This seminar will draws from a variety of sources to understand contemporary politics of racial & ethnic identity. Much of the class will focus on white perceptions of Black-Americans, other minority groups, and themselves, including sources of resentment, animosity and competition.

Readings and films drawn from a variety of sources, all available on-line and/or through the library (no more than one film requiring a nominal rental fee)
Format and Requirements
A mixture of lectures, films, and discussions.
