Required text: Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics, translated by Hippocrates G. Apostle, The Peripatetic Press, 1984. (Students will need to use the assigned translation unless they can read the work in the original Greek.)
Recommended text: Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics: An Introduction, by Michael Pakaluk, Cambridge University Press, 2005.
Format and Requirements
The class will meet for one two-hour session per week. The first part of each weekly session will consist of a lecture. This will be followed by a guided discussion of assigned questions on the week’s topics. Requirements include participation, exams, and an essay.
