U.S. Government and Politics
Themes
This course will introduce students to the study of American politics by considering how the institutional rules created by the U.S. Constitution interact with the complex social forces of the nation. Main topics include the following: the development of the “two party” system, Presidential leadership, the legislative process, policy-making in the administrative state, and the politics of race and immigration.
