Might and Right Among Nations
Themes
The course examines conceptions of international relations in political thought. It explores the relationship between justice, power, and interests in the works of prominent ancient, modern and contemporary thinkers. Special attention is paid to the prospects for a just world order, the causes and justifications of war, the construction of images of citizens and enemies, and the nature of duties to outsiders.
