Asia and the Global Economy

Themes

This course will examine economic development in the Asia region. Drawing on theoretical texts in comparative and international political economy, students will gain an understanding of how Asia’s economies, both large and small, have grown over the past century and have been integrated into the global economy. Themes included in this course: growth and trade, poverty and inequality, technology innovation, public policy.
