Introduction to Quantitative Reasoning

Themes

Quantitative evidence has become increasingly an important part of political science research and public policy debates. The results of quantitative empirical analysis can be seen in many research articles and books in political science and various reports in divergent policy issues. This course introduces important foundations of these quantitative empirical studies to enable you to interpret and evaluate the results of quantitative statistical analysis. The topics to be covered include scientific study of politics, research designs, data collection and operationalization of variables, foundations of statistical inference, and regression analysis.
