A detailed study of Aristotle’s Nicomachean Ethics.
Texts
Aristotle’s Nicomachean Ethics. Specific translation TBA. (Students will need to use the assigned translation unless they can read the work in the original Greek.) For preparatory reading either the translation by Hippocrates G. Apostle or by Martin Ostwald may be used (both are available at Robarts). Secondary readings TBA.
Format and Requirements
The class will meet for one two-hour session per week. The first part of each weekly session will consist of a lecture. This will be followed by a guided discussion of assigned questions on the week’s topics. Requirements include participation, exams, and an essay.

POL200Y1 or POL200Y5 or (POLC70H3, POLC71H3)
Exclusions
POL330H1 or POL330Y1 (taken before 2012-13)
