Core Course: International Politics

Themes

As the core course in international relations, POL2200Y aims to familiarize doctoral students with competing and complementary theoretical approaches to international relations. The course has three purposes: to provide a thorough grounding in the “great literatures” of international relations and their application to current debates; to develop students’ ability to assess these theoretical literatures critically; and to help students refine the theoretical foundations of their subsequent dissertations.
