Statistics for Political Scientists

Themes

This course examines the theory and application of statistical methods in empirical research in political science. The objective of the course is to train students to be able to understand the basic frameworks behind quantitative empirical research in political science and to confidently and properly interpret, assess and employ the most commonly used statistical methods in political science research. Coverage includes: scientific study of politics, research designs, probability theory, descriptive, associational, and causal inference, and linear regression model. The course assumes no prior training in mathematics or statistics.
