Professor Michael Donnelly Honoured by the Government of Japan

The Department of Political Science is thrilled to announce that distinguished Professor Emeritus Michael Donnelly has been awarded the Order of the Rising Sun by the government of Japan. The awards, handed out annually, are conferred to those individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the understanding of Japanese affairs among Canadians.

Previous recipients of the award have included renowned Japanese scholars, such as Susan Pharr, Ian Nish and Peter Drysdale. Last year’s winners included Hollywood actor and director Clint Eastwood. We are delighted to see Michael included in this illustrious group of people.
