Biography

Alex is a PhD candidate at the University of Toronto. He specializes in Canadian politics, political engagement, campaign promise fulfillment, quantitative methods, citizenship education, and gender & politics. A data scientist for the Leadership Chair in the Teaching of Digital Social Sciences (CLESSN), he has been the Polimeter’s project manager since 2020. His work with the CLESSN has included developing R functions, Shiny apps and weighting formulas for the Vote Compass, Quorum Project and Radar+. His PhD dissertation studies the role of parents and peers in the transmission of political interest to children.
