Havrylyshyn is a Visiting Scholar at the Munk Centre with former positions as Deputy Director of European Department at the IMF in Washington; faculty member at George Washington University; and Acting Deputy Minister of Finance Government of Ukraine. His research interests include development economics and the political economy of transition. His most recent books include Divergent Paths in Post-Communist Transformation (2006) (Ukrainian translation 2007); and Return to Growth in CIS Countries (2006). He has published widely in professional journals including Comparative Economic Studies, Post-Soviet Affairs, Economic Policy, IMF Staff Papers, Journal of Development Economics.
