This panel discussion with Andrew Cash, Anne Woolger, Laura Brittain and another panelist TBA looks to explore Canada’s simultaneously proud and embarrassing history with refugee affairs. From the high point of being awarded the Nansen Medal by the UNHRC, to the more recent deportation of much of Toronto’s Roma community, this panel of experts and experienced members in and of the refugee community will discuss the merits of Canada’s federal policies to do with immigration, and ultimately answer the question of whether we deserve to maintain our prestige among the international community, and what reforms, if any, we should be considering.
