Congratulations to Dr. Caroline Shenaz Hossein who has been honoured with a 2024 100ABC (Accomplished Black Canadian) Women Award!
The 100ABC Award celebrates excellence and innovation highlighting individuals and organizations committed to fostering diversity, equity, and solidarity within economic systems. Dr. Hossein’s leadership and contributions have promoted alternative economic models that prioritize social justice, and this award recognizes her dedication to the advancement of sustainable and inclusive economics. Recipients were announced in February 2024 – during Black History Month – while the ceremony is upcoming in September.
She shares this honour with 99 other exceptional Black Women who have made considerable contributions and impact, now, and over several decades, to our youth and the fabric and landscape of Canada.
The goal of this award is to highlight, document and make visible the accomplishments of Black Canadian women in terms of government, not-for-profit, financial, legal, real estate, health, education/academic, entertainment, fine arts, unsung heroes, trailblazers, firsts, and posthumous heroes.
Dr. Hossein is an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto – Scarborough in the Departments of Global Development and Political Science.
