Civil War Tycoons: Explaining Rebel Group Entrepreneurism in the Myanmar Civil War
Biography
Jae Hyun is a PhD Candidate in Political Science at the University of Toronto. His dissertation project examines the ongoing civil war in Myanmar to understand why some rebel groups in civil wars establish large businesses while continuing to fight the state. Additionally, he is also interested in the political legacies of civil war violence in post-war societies.
Prior to his doctoral studies, Jae Hyun worked at the international development sector, developing knowledge transfer and cooperation projects for sustainable urban development in the Asia Pacific region.
