Reviewed in The New York Times by longtime White House correspondent Peter Baker, Jean Edward Smith’s latest presidential biography ‘Bush’ is described as ‘a comprehensive and compelling narrative punctuated by searing verdicts of all the places where the author thinks the 43rd president went off track. Controversial, incisive, and compelling, it is thoroughly researched and sure to add to the debate over Bush’s presidential legacy.’ Smith, a member of the faculty of Political Science at the University of Toronto for over thirty-five years, and a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize, has previously penned biographies of Dwight D. Eisenhower and Ulysses S. Grant.
