Congratulations to Tommaso Pavone whose book The Ghostwriters: Lawyers and the Politics Behind the Judicial Construction of Europe (Cambridge University Press, 2022), has received a certificate of merit in a specialized area of international law from the American Society of International Law (ASIL).
ASIL is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, educational membership organization whose mission is to foster the study of international law and to promote the establishment and maintenance of international relations on the basis of law and justice.
Tommaso was also the recipient of the 2024 Carolina de Miguel Moyer Young Scholar Award, which was established in 2021 to recognize emerging scholars in European Studies under age forty, or within ten years of defending their dissertation. It is presented annually from the Council of European Studies to a scholar who is judged to have made (through a body of publications) the most significant contribution to the interdisciplinary study of Europe.
