World leaders gathered in Paris on Monday for the crucial UN summit on climate change to negotiate a treaty to limit global warming to 2C, the widely accepted temperature threshold to avert catastrophic disasters. The conference objective is to achieve a legally binding and universal agreement on climate, from all the nations of the world. In a piece for The Globe and Mail, Political Science Professor Matthew Hoffmann discusses the expectations and implications of the conference being held in Paris from November 30th to December 11th.
