In addition to the participation of many faculty members and graduate students in virtually all sub-fields of political science, three faculty members won prestigious prizes. For leadership in bringing the study of Canadian Politics to the international scholarly community,Sylvia Bashevkin received the Mildred A. Schwartz Lifetime Achievement Award from the Canadian Politics Section. The Urban Politics Section gave its Career Achievement Award to Richard Stren. And Joe Carens’ The Ethics of Immigration won the David Easton Award for the best book of the year from the Foundations of Political Theory Section.
