Front Cover_smallPolitical science professor Joseph Carens took part in a debate for The New York Times on the ethics of deporting immigrants, depending on if they’ve lived in a country for a long time and live a busy life there.

“When immigrants move to a new country and live there for a long time, it becomes their home, and they should not be forced to leave it,” he wrote. “One of the worst things about current deportation policies is that they give almost no weight to the connections that an immigrant has here.”
