One of the preeminent political thinkers of the 20th Century, Macpherson’s academic career began as a student and continued as a professor in the U. of T. Department of Political Economy (and then Political Science). His books, most translated into several languages, include Democracy in Alberta, The Political Theory of Possessive Individualism, Democratic Theory, The Life and Time of Liberal Democracy, Burke, and The Rise and Fall of Economic Justice.
