Since graduating in 2006 with a B.A. in Political Science and Cinema Studies, Lisa Ng has definitely carved her own career path. She been an actress, voiced cartoons and has been one of Toronto’s top wedding DJs. In 2010, she co-founded a blog called the Hip and Urban Girl’s Guide blog which now has 30,000 unique monthly visitors, about 7,000 people following on Twitter, and about 2,000 fans on Facebook.
Commenting on her time as a University of Toronto student in a recent UofT Magazine interview, Ng says, “I definitely honed my writing skills from the dozens upon dozens of essays that I had to write. I feel like at U of T, you had to be a good writer. My writing skills came from the essay writing, for sure”.
