New media is widely viewed as a political game-changer, having impacted electoral fortunes and even spurred revolutions. But to what extent, if any, has new media exerted influence on global governance institutions such as the UN, G8, and NATO? Is there a difference in how these institutions engage with new media as opposed to conventional mass media? Does this create a new space for agency on the part of civil society?

Join the G8 Research Group and the Association of Political Science Students on March 12, 2013 in the Hart House Arbour Room as a distinguished panel of journalists, practitioners, and researchers endeavour to realize the potential of new media for contemporary global governance.

There is no cost to attend this event.
