Michael Ignatieff to teach in the Political Science Department

Former Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff, who resigned on Tuesday following the results of the May 2nd election, has been appointed as Senior Resident of Massey College. He will teach in the Department of Political Science, the Faculty of Law, the Munk School of Global Affairs and the School of Public Policy and Governance.

Dr Ignatieff received his BA in History from the University of Toronto in 1969, and his PhD from Harvard in 1976. His non-fiction books include The Lesser Evil: Political Ethics in an Age of Terror, American Exceptionalism and Human Rights and True Patriot Love. His 1993 novel, Scar Tissue, was nominated for the Booker prize.

The Department of Political Science extends a warm welcome to Dr. Ignatieff, and is confident that students will benefit from his knowledge and experience in the fall.
