Biography

Mary Jo’s research focuses on women in the history of political thought. Her dissertation, The Meaning of Equality, draws on writings from within the canon of political theory as well as lesser known writings on the status of women to show how women contributed to the emergence of three distinct ideas of equality in the Early Modern period.
