Biography
Omar studies the role collective memory plays in emancipatory political movements. His work is rooted in 19th and 20th century German political thought, especially that of the Frankfurt School. More broadly, Omar is also interested in the history of modern political thought, in the political and social thought of Gabriel Garcia Marquez, and in ‘tragedy’ as a political-theoretical concept.
