Biography

Scott’s research focuses on the different uses of language in politics, both ancient and modern. His dissertation project – Articulating Freedom: Rousseau and the Poetic Foundations of Political Community – is on the understanding of political speech found in the thought of Jean-Jacques Rousseau. He has a secondary interest in the origin and evolution of political thought and practice on human rights and confederate political units.
