Erica is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Political Science at the University of Toronto, a SSHRC Canada Graduate Scholar, and a Doctoral Fellow at Victoria College’s Northrop Frye Centre. Her research interests include political satire, youth political engagement, media and politics, and the determinants of civic attitudes and political participation. Erica’s dissertation studies how political satire affects young people’s civic attitudes and political participation habits in Canada. Recent publications include “MP Transparency, Communication Links and Social Media: A Comparative Assessment of 184 Parliamentary Websites,” Journal of Legislative Studies vol. 19, no. 4 (2013), co-authored with Dr. Devin Joshi.
