Shelly Ghai

Biography

Shelly Ghai is a doctoral candidate in Political Science at the University of Toronto and holds an M.A. in Political Science from McGill University. Her research interests include ethnic conflict and the politics of identity, political parties, contentious politics and social movements, and South Asian politics. Her dissertation examines ethnic party competition in India. Her research has been funded and supported by Ontario Graduate Scholarships, the Ethnicity and Democratic Governance Graduate Research Grant, and the C.B. Macpherson Dissertation Fellowship. Her recent work has been published in an edited volume on religion and politics.
