Izabela Steflja

Biography

Izabela Steflja is a doctoral candidate in Political Science at the University of Toronto and holds a M.A. in Political Science from McGill University. Her research interests include political violence, politics of identity, human rights, transitional justice, and reconciliation. Izabela Steflja’s dissertation examines the meanings of international criminal tribunals in different domestic settings. Her research has been funded by a number of prestigious awards including SSHRC Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarships – Doctoral and Master’s, Ontario Graduate Scholarship, and CICI Africa Initiative Grant. Her recent work has been published in Human Rights Review, Global Change, Peace, and Security, and Africa Portal.
