Edward Snowden’s Lessons: Against the Anti-Legal Turn in Theories of Civil Disobedience

The Centre for Ethics at the University of Toronto welcome Professor William E. Scheuerman, from Indiana University, for his talk entitled: Edward Snowden’s Lessons: Against the Anti-Legal Turn in Theories of Civil Disobedience.

The event will be held on Monday, Jan 19 in Room 200 Larkin Building, 15 Devonshire Place.

Bill Scheuerman’s primary research and teaching interests are in modern political thought, German political thought, democratic theory, legal theory, and international political theory. He serves as North American Co-Director of an annual international conference for critical theorists held in Prague. His latest book, The Realist Case for Global Reform, offers a defence of world statehood.
