Tuition & Funding

Domestic tuition is $6,210 (2023–24) plus fees (slightly over $8,000 in total). Many of our eligible students receive grants from the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) that cover the entire cost of domestic tuition. After completing the MA, graduates have gone on to doctoral study at top ranked universities such as Harvard, Johns Hopkins, University of Chicago, and the University of Toronto. Alumni of our MA program teach at universities such as Stanford and McGill.

In 2024–25 tuition and fees for MA students are as follows: Domestic: $9,001.53; International: $33,247.53. MA students are not awarded guaranteed funding and so it is recommended that applicants apply for internal and external funding, if eligible. The School of Graduate Studies offers a comprehensive list of awards.

Typically the scholarships held by our MA students include the following:

  • The Canada Graduate Scholarship – Masters (CGS-M) – valued at $18,000 per academic year. Deadline to apply is December 1st, 2024 for Fall 2025 entry.

Deadline to apply is March 1st, 2025 (requires OGS application).
  • Royal Bank Scholarship – Students are automatically considered for this fellowship with their application, but must have a Statement of Intent as part of their application focusing on a topic in Public or Economic Policy, and be a current resident of Ontario.
