Rachael’s research focuses on political membership and participation. Her dissertation, Intellectual Disability and Political Community, considers the political life of people with intellectual disabilities and how accounting for this action could transform communities. She draws on feminist political theory and democratic theory, as well as various critical approaches, to question norms of who counts as a political actor to provide a more inclusive account of political action and community.
