Research and teaching interests include quantitative political methodology and comparative electoral and legislative politics. Recent publications include: “Incumbency Disadvantage under Electoral Rules with Intra-Party Competition: Evidence from Japan” (Journal of Politics 2015) and “When Do Political Parties Benefit from Incumbents’ Personal Votes? Comparative Analysis Across Different Electoral Systems” (Electoral Studies 2020). .
