Biography

David Quayat is Crown Counsel with the Complex Prosecution Bureau, Ministry of the Attorney General (Ontario),  where he conducts trials and on a range of Criminal Code offences.. Prior to joining the MAG, David worked for almost ten years as a Crown with the Public Prosecution Service of Canada, where he prosecuted cases dealing with narcotics, firearms, terrorism. Prior to his career as a criminal lawyer, David practiced internationally, including in Washington, D.C., and was legal counsel to a number of foreign states in a variety of international trade law matters, including before the World Trade Organization. He has also litigated cases in Canada and the United States related to diplomatic and sovereign immunity. David has published several articles on diplomatic immunity, sovereign immunity, the North American Free Trade Agreement and international trade. David also serves as a Reserve Legal Officer with the Office of the Judge Advocate General.
