Alison Smith
Associate Professor
Biography
Alison Smith is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Political Science at the University of Toronto and UTM. Her research focuses on the governance of the welfare state, particularly homelessness. Other teaching and research interests include urban and multilevel governance, and social protection in comparative perspective. Her forthcoming book, Multiple Barriers: The Multilevel Governance of Homelessness in Canada, will be published by the University of Toronto Press. Her work has been published in Urban Affairs Review, The International Journal of Social Welfare, Housing Studies, the European Journal of Homelessness and Canadian Public Administration.
