Biography
Stefan Renckens conducts research in global environmental governance and political economy, with specific interests in private rulemaking and compliance assurance, business power, corporate perceptions of sustainability and regulatory risks, lobbying, and interactions between transnational governance and public policy. His research covers various issue areas, including fisheries, sustainable finance, climate change, fair trade, organic agriculture, electronic waste and renewable energy. He has regional expertise in European Union politics and policy. He is the author of “Private Governance and Public Authority. Stefan holds a Ph.D. (2014) and M.Phil. (2011) in Global Environmental Politics from Yale University, and Master’s degrees in Political Science (2002), Economic Policy (2003), and Conflict and Peace Studies (2005) from the University of Leuven, Belgium.
