Plutarch's Political Thought

Themes

This course explores key features of the political thought of Plutarch (1st century CE) and his enduring influence in the development of the history of Western political thought. Particular attention is paid to his place in the French tradition with readings from Claude de Seyssel, Bodin, Montaigne and Rousseau.
