Enlightenment and its Critics
This course will examine the three works of Rousseau’s early maturity in which he first presented his critique of the Enlightenment: the Discourse on the Sciences and Arts, the Discourse on the Origins of Inequality, and the Discourse on Political Economy, along with some of the polemics provoked by them.
