Biography
Joseph’s research investigates the development of moral psychology in both religious and secular spheres from the classical and early modern eras and their influence on contemporary liberalism. He analyses the moral psychological underpinnings of liberal philosophy and the ideational origins of those underpinnings. His expertise is in classical political thought, early modern political thought, liberal political thought, history of philosophy, political theology, emotions in political thought, and analytic philosophy.
