Anika Ganness

Biography
Anika specializes in Comparative Politics and Canadian Politics. Her research draws on political science and social work studies. Her dissertation, Immigrants’ encounters with state child welfare systems, examines the causes of overrepresentation of immigrants’ children in child welfare systems. She is interested in social policy, particularly as it affects intersectional identities. Prior to pursuing her doctoral studies, Anika worked in the NGO sector as the Global Child Protection Officer for an international child rights organization.
