Biography

Research Areas: Postcolonial Theory, Decolonial Politics, Comparative Political Theory, Popular Movements, as well as Indigenous and Black Politics in the Americas. Arturo’s current book project, entitled “Imagining America: International Commiseration and National Revolution in the Modern Post-colony,” analyzes the importance of hemispheric vernaculars for the development of popular anti-colonial movements in Mexico, Colombia, Peru, and the United States. His research has appeared the American Journal of Political Science (AJPS), Contemporary Political Theory (CPT), the International Journal of Political Economy (IJPE), the Washington Post, and Foreign Policy.
