In an article posted by The Hill Times on Monday, Oct. 7th, Professors Nelson Wiseman and Peter Loewen discuss Federal elections:

University of Toronto political science professor Nelson Wiseman said he believes the current trends in voter opinion will continue into 2015, and the Liberals are likely to regain their historical advantage against the NDP, and perhaps an edge on the Conservatives, through support in Quebec, particularly in Montreal, and in the densely populated Toronto area.

“Absolutely, I think they’ve really moved up already. From what they had last time to this time, sure they could win a majority,” said Mr. Wiseman.

Peter Loewan, an assistant professor in political science at the University of Toronto, said he believes if the Liberals and NDP continue to compete for electors in Toronto and other regions, the Conservatives will continue to benefit.

“I don’t know where voter opinion is going to go in the next two years, I think there’s still a lot of uncertainty there (but) everywhere where the Liberals and the NDP are fighting for seats is a problem for both of those parties,” Mr. Loewan said in an interview.
